**December is a time of anniversaries, when I reflect on what has gone before. My life feels like a series of novels, stories that reflect the depths and shallows, the highways and side roads of my experience. A large part of that consists of the books I read. Herewith is a list of books read this year with my rating, which simply expresses my current recollection of the experience.
